Scott MacDougal, President

Scott MacDougal brings a wealth of financial experience to Cornerstone as well as an intimate knowledge of the alarm industry,

MacDougal spent twelve years in the venture capital and banking industries. As Manager of Business Development for Kentco, a Chicago-based venture firm, he initiated and closed equity investments in several fast-growing small businesses. Previously he held the position of Vice President with the First National Bank of Chicago, where he founded the Telecommunications Division and managed credit commitments of over $400 million.

In 1997, MacDougal began consulting, advising, and funding  security companies and other  businesses. He successfully brokered several industry purchases including the sale of Norman Security Systems (an SDM Top 50 Dealer) to SecurityLink/Ameritech in 1997. He also started, managed, and subsequently purchased the lending division of Security Associates International (SAI) - that business has evolved into Cornerstone Billing.

MacDougal earned a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania´s Wharton School of Business.

Jody Schuhart, Vice President

Jody Schuhart joined Cornerstone in March 2000 and brings to the company extensive experience in consulting, product development, marketing, sales, customer service, relationship management, as well as product and sales training. Her knowledge and expertise have been pivotal in helping Cornerstone to fully develop the leading edge programs used by security dealers and others in the industry.

In 1985, Schuhart co-founded Sachs Group Inc. which grew from a start-up into the leading healthcare information and software company in the healthcare industry. She managed various divisions in the company and spearheaded its growth and evolution. She sold her interest in Sachs when it was purchased in 1998 by a Dutch conglomerate. Schuhart stayed on part-time as a Senior Vice President to oversee product sales and service training for what became HCIA Sachs (now Solucient), a $100 million information services company.

Schuhart earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business.
