Privacy Policy and Security

[/heading1][vc_column_text]Our Privacy Policy and Security Promise: As a trusted vendor to the security services industry, Cornerstone promises to maintain the highest possible standards to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of subscriber and customer data. Cornerstone will not disclose any information or data submitted by Users of this web site to any third party, without the User’s prior permission, unless Cornerstone has a good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; or (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Cornerstone.

Billing Agreement: If a User becomes a Cornerstone customer, our billing agreement contains strict confidentiality provisions – we specify that customer information will only be used for the processing tasks you’ve asked us to handle for you. Cornerstone has been handling such confidential information, without a material issue or complaint, since 1997. During that time, we’ve handled billing for tens of thousands of subscriber accounts.

Site Security: Extensive security measures protect the subscriber data in Cornerstone’s online system, including:

  • Hardware and software port protection and firewalls
  • Use of an encrypted connection protocol to safeguard information and protect against hacking activity
  • Lockdown measures that restrict user activity to their company’s database
  • Virus scan software with routine updates

While Cornerstone believes these security measures will continue to be effective, Cornerstone is not liable for any security breach.

Credit Card & Bank Information: As a further protection to our privacy policy and security commitment, Cornerstone complies with the Merchant Level 4 requirements set by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards (an Annual PCI Self-Assessment Questionnaire and Quarterly Network Scan).  We have contracted with a PCI security verification company for the quarterly reviews and have received Site Certification.  For customers who use Cornerstone’s AutoPay services, we also collect credit card information (name, email address, shipping address, credit card company, credit card number and expiration date, bank account number, bank routing number). That data is used only to process the charges that have been authorized, and is kept strictly confidential. We made enhancements to the Alarm Software that allows a dealer to restrict user access to credit card information.

By necessity, third parties are used to process and clear these payments; although all such parties Cornerstone works with have strict confidentiality provisions and are required to comply with PCI Security Standards, Cornerstone cannot be held responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third parties which receive the information.

Staff & Screening: In addition, Cornerstone’s staff consists of professionals that have gone through an extensive screening process before hiring to ensure that Cornerstone’s confidentiality and security standards will be maintained.
